Mr. Hon Kwok Lung, Chairman of Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group Limited, attended The 19th Session of the Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium opened on 27th November 2015 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and was seated at the rostrum at the opening ceremony. Jointly organised by Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association and Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, the Symposium was attended by guests of honour including HKSAR Chief Executive CY Leung, HKTDC Chairman Vincent HS Lo, Executive Vice Mayor of Beijing Li Shixiang, Vice Mayor of Beijing Cheng Hong, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR Chou Hong, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR Song Ru’an and other government officials and entrepreneurs from both Beijing and Hong Kong.

 

As a significant event between Beijing and Hong Kong that is held annually, the Symposium is centered around industrial developments including finance, high technology, creative industries and boosting the exchange and cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong on areas including innovative technology, smart city development, health and medical care, food and tourism.

 

Beijing, the capital of the national politics and culture, is the first pilot city in nationwide for opening up the services sector. Hong Kong, possessing outstanding talents and tremendous successful experiences, can contribute to the country’s “Belt and Road” infrastructure as the “Super Connector” linking up various economic units of Mainland and regions along the line and an ideal capital market of fund raising and financing, and the asset and risk management center. Though holding series of seminars and symposiums between Beijing and Hong Kong, both cities jointly seize the opportunities leading to a win-win situation and expand the international market hand-in-hand. The Symposium is contributed to establishing a platform for both Beijing and Hong Kong to promote exchange and cooperation in various areas including finance, modernized service sector, creative technology, cultural innovation, cross-border eCommerce and biological medication.
